AT&T* and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will host the fourth Malaysia Developers’ Day in Kuala Lumpur, scheduled for September 22-23, 2016. The event will encourage innovators and entrepreneurs to create Internet of Things (IoT) apps.
Winners will share cash prizes worth US$13,000 (~MYR49,400). They’ll also get Nanodegree scholarships worth US$10,000 (~MYR40,000) from AT&T and Udacity. Southeast Asian based early stage VC firm Golden Gate Ventures will also give each winning team 6 months of mentoring.
Last year, 128 participants created 18 new app ideas.
Now, more teams from across Asia will compete. Their mission? In 24 hours, harness the IoT—with a special emphasis on machine learning and data analytics—to build an app. This year’s categories:
